Rockstar Games released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on 15 October 2026, five weeks before the game comes out on 19 November. It runs about a minute and a half, it was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5, and it comes with new music from Justice, the French duo who composed the game’s original score. Here is what it shows, what came with it, and what happens between now and launch day.
When did the GTA 6 Launch Trailer come out?
The trailer went live on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and on the Rockstar Newswire on Thursday 15 October 2026, at 6 am Pacific time, 2 pm in the UK and 3 pm in Paris. It is the fourth official GTA 6 video, after Trailer 1 in December 2023, Trailer 2 in May 2025 and the 26-minute Extended Look in August 2026. None of them was ever called Trailer 3: the long-awaited third trailer never came under that name, and the Launch Trailer is what Rockstar chose to show five weeks out.
What the trailer shows
Rockstar sums the trailer up in a few lines, and they say a lot about the story. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. Then an easy score goes wrong, and the two of them land on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the whole state of Leonida. With everyone else against them, they have to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.
That fits everything Rockstar has shown since 2023: a story built around a couple, a heist that goes off the rails, and a state, Leonida, that is far bigger than Vice City alone. Who Jason and Lucia are, and what we know of the plot, is on our GTA 6 story page and our profiles of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
Like the Extended Look in August, the Launch Trailer is not a cinematic made for the occasion: Rockstar states that it was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5, so what you see is what the console runs.
The music: Justice and Flower in a Hurricane
The trailer is set to new music from Justice, the electronic duo of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, who composed the original score of GTA 6. On the same day, Rockstar released a standalone Justice single, Flower in a Hurricane, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
The single is part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack that comes out on 19 November alongside the game. It can already be pre-saved on the main streaming services and pre-ordered on vinyl or CD, and Rockstar says more is coming on the music of the game, including an album of the original score.
