GTA III Tips, Cheat Codes & Guides
Twenty-five years on, players still come back to GTA III for three things: its 25 cheat codes, the secrets Rockstar hid around Liberty City, and the story of how the game was made. This is where to start for each of them.
Cheat Codes on Every Platform
GTA III has 25 cheat codes. On PC you type a word during play, GESUNDHEIT for full health, GUNSGUNSGUNS for every weapon or GIVEUSATANK for a Rhino; on consoles you press a button sequence instead. The full list sets every platform side by side, Switch included.

One trap catches a lot of players: the Definitive Edition on Xbox One and Series X|S swapped the triggers and the bumpers, so a sequence from the 2003 Xbox does nothing there. The Xbox page gives both versions for every cheat.
Secrets Rockstar Hid in Liberty City
The most famous one sits in an alley in Bedford Point that has no way in. Drive a small car up a flight of stairs, jump between rooftops, and you find a note from the developers telling you that you were not supposed to get there. It started a running joke that San Andreas and GTA IV both picked up. Our easter eggs page lists thirteen secrets with the exact place to stand.
Behind the Game
GTA III was due on 3 October 2001. The attacks of 11 September, a few streets from Rockstar's New York office, pushed it back three weeks and changed a handful of details, from the colour of the police cars to the box art. The fun facts page separates what really changed from the myths, and explains why Claude never says a word.
