GTA 5 Online Vehicle Rankings
There is no single best vehicle in GTA 5 and GTA Online. The fastest car, the best motorcycle, the deadliest aircraft and the toughest armored truck are four different machines, bought in different places for different jobs. Each ranking below answers one of those questions, with measured speeds rather than the in-game bars, which flatter some cars and undersell others.
Cars: Top Speed Is Not the Same as Fast
On a straight line, the Grotti Cartuccia GT is the quickest car you can buy, at 139 mph, ahead of the Grotti Veleno GT (138.75 mph) and the Bravado Banshee GTS (138 mph). Three cars inside a single mile per hour of each other: at that level, the choice comes down to price and handling more than raw speed.

Around a lap, the order changes. The best measured lap time belongs to the Vapid FMJ MK V, at 0:57.774, because it carries more speed through the corners than cars that only shine on a highway. That is why the cars ranking shows both figures side by side: if you race, read the lap time; if you just want to cross the map, read the top speed.
On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the Enhanced edition on PC, Hao's Special Works upgrades push a handful of cars far beyond these numbers. The cars page lists those HSW leaders separately, so you know which ones are worth the conversion.
Motorcycles: The Fastest Way Across Los Santos
Nothing on two wheels touches the Western Reever: 163 mph, at $1,900,000 from Legendary Motorsport. The Western Police Bike (Money Fronts) follows at 156.75 mph, and the Maibatsu Manchez Scout at 139.75 mph is the cheap option at $225,000.

Bikes are the fastest way to get somewhere in a straight line, and the most fragile: one bump and you are on the tarmac. For freeroam errands and races they are unbeatable; for anything with gunfire, pick from the armored list instead.
Planes and Helicopters: Speed, Firepower or Convenience
The aircraft ranking is not about speed alone, because the best aircraft for a heist is rarely the fastest one. The Sparrow tops it for convenience: if you own a Kosatka submarine, it is delivered next to you for free, as often as you like. The Western Company Rogue gives you the most weapons per dollar.
For pure speed, the F-160 Raiju is the fastest aircraft on measured tests, at 232.5 mph. It also takes off vertically and disappears from other players' minimaps, which makes it the favourite of anyone who wants to move across the map unseen. It is also the most expensive aircraft on the list.
Armored Vehicles and Boats
When the goal is to survive rather than to arrive first, the armored ranking takes over. The Brickade 6x6, the Terrorbyte and the Nightshark lead it: vehicles that shrug off gunfire and take several explosives before they go up, which is what you want for contact missions, heist setups and griefers with homing rockets.
On the water, the Longfin is the fastest boat in the game, ahead of the Jetmax and the Speeder. The boats page covers every boat, jet ski and submarine, including the ones you can only reach through a property.
