Lucia Caminos is one of the two playable protagonists of GTA 6 and the first female lead in a mainline Grand Theft Auto. Raised to fight by her father, she went to Leonida Penitentiary for defending her family, got out by sheer luck, and walked out with a plan, and with Jason as a possible way out. Rockstar has not announced her performer; Manni L. Perez is the reported name.

Lucia learned to throw a punch before she could read a street sign: her father saw to that. The fights never really stopped, and the one she fought for her family cost her a stretch in Leonida Penitentiary. She got out by luck rather than by design, and walked out determined that every move from now on would be a calculated one.
What drives her is her mother's old dream of a good life, a dream that goes back to the family's years in Liberty City. Lucia has stopped waiting for it to arrive and means to take it, whatever it costs. Jason could be part of the plan, or her way out of the life she has known.

Lucia opened the first trailer on 5 December 2023: the first shot of GTA 6 gameplay was her in an orange prison uniform, and the trailer's only line of dialogue was hers. It made her the first woman to lead a mainline Grand Theft Auto game, twenty-six years after the series began. The second trailer, on 6 May 2025, opened on her again, walking out of Leonida Penitentiary, and Rockstar's site gave her a surname, Caminos, and a background: a father who taught her to fight, a family she went to prison for, a mother who dreams of the good life since their days in Liberty City.
The screenshots show the range Rockstar wants for her: a heavy bag in a boxing gym, a yellow sports bike outside a liquor bar, a rooftop pool with a cocktail, a nightclub in sequins, and a pistol raised beside a doorway with Jason behind her. The Extended Look of 27 August 2026 showed her missions in Vice City proper and confirmed that players switch between her and Jason during the story.
Still unknown: the crime that sent her to prison, how long she served, what stroke of luck got her out, and what her plan is. The Liberty City mention is the one link to an earlier GTA setting, and it concerns her mother's past, not hers.

Jason Duval: her partner and the second protagonist. Rockstar's text puts it from her side: "A life with Jason could be her way out."
Her mother: unnamed so far, the reason for the plan. Lucia wants to give her the good life she has dreamed of since the family's Liberty City days.
Her family: Defending them is what put her in Leonida Penitentiary. Who they are and where they live has not been shown.
Rockstar has not announced Lucia's performer. Industry reporting based on union records has named Manni L. Perez, an actress from New York, as her voice and motion-capture performer, and the name has been widely repeated since 2024. Rockstar has neither confirmed nor denied it. It is the most credible casting report for any GTA 6 character, and still not official. Rockstar kept the GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 casts quiet until release, so silence here is normal, not a sign of anything.

In a mainline game, yes. GTA 1 in 1997 let players pick from a roster that included women, but Lucia is the first named, playable female lead with her own story in a numbered GTA.
Rockstar has not announced it. Manni L. Perez has been reported as her performer based on union records, and the report has not been confirmed or denied by Rockstar as of September 2026.
All that is known is that she went to prison for fighting for her family, and that luck, not a lawyer, got her out. The crime and the sentence have not been revealed.
Not originally. Her mother's dreams go back to the family's days in Liberty City, the series' New York, so the family moved to Leonida at some point. Her story in GTA 6 starts as she leaves Leonida Penitentiary.
