The Warriors has 18 story missions and 5 flashback missions. The first part is an original prequel set about three months before the 1979 film, as the Warriors build their reputation in Coney Island. The last missions follow the film: Cyrus is shot at the great meeting, the Warriors are framed, and they fight their way home across New York, ending with Swan beating Luther at Coney Island in Come Out to Play.

The Warriors clash with the Destroyers and their leader Virgil, whom Cleon and Vermin once followed, humiliate the Orphans, fight the Hi-Hats, tag trains across the city, and help the Saracens set up the Jones Street Boys. In Destroyed, they wipe out the Destroyers.
Cyrus, leader of the Gramercy Riffs, calls every gang to a meeting in Van Cortlandt Park and proposes a citywide truce. Luther, leader of the Rogues, shoots him, the police raid the meeting, and Luther blames the Warriors. Cleon is attacked by the Riffs, and Swan takes over. The Riffs put a hit on the Warriors through a radio DJ.

Chased by the Turnbull ACs, the Warriors are stopped at Tremont, where a clash with the Orphans ends with Mercy joining them. At 96th Street station, Fox falls onto the tracks and is killed by a train. Swan, Snow, Ajax and Cowboy beat the Baseball Furies in Riverside Park, where Ajax is arrested by an undercover cop, while the others escape the Lizzies' trap and fight the Punks at Union Square.
Back at Coney Island, Luther admits he killed Cyrus for no reason. Swan beats him in a one-on-one fight and disarms him when he pulls a gun. The Riffs arrive to deal with the Rogues, the DJ calls off the hit, and the Warriors walk down the beach.
