Save your game before using any of these. Most cheats can be switched off by entering them a second time, but the three pedestrian cheats cannot: once you save with them active, they stay active for that file. On the Definitive Edition, using any cheat also disables achievements on the current save.
GTA III on Nintendo Switch
The Switch only has the Definitive Edition, released on the Nintendo eShop on 11 November 2021 and boxed on 7 December 2021. Cheats are entered during play like on the other consoles, with the buttons in the same positions as on a PlayStation controller: the Switch column of the table above gives every sequence.

GTA III on Mobile
2011

2023
The Definitive Edition
Released on 14 December 2023 on iOS and Android, and included with a Netflix subscription.
On the mobile Definitive Edition there is no button sequence: tap the mini-map, open Options, then Accessibility, choose Enter Cheat Code and type the PC word from the table above.
More GTA III on GTAside
Cheats aside, the rest of Liberty City is covered elsewhere on the site: the fastest cars in GTA III, the best weapons, the easter eggs and the game page itself. The same typing method carries over to Vice City and to the much longer San Andreas list.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can GTA 3 cheats be turned off?
Most of them, by entering the same cheat a second time. Three cannot: the pedestrian riot, the pedestrians attacking you and the pedestrians carrying weapons. Once you save the game with one of those active it stays active on that save file, so keep a clean save before you start.
Do GTA 3 cheats work in the Definitive Edition?
Yes, with two exceptions. The invisible cars cheat was removed from the remaster, and Big Head Mode was added to it and exists nowhere else. Using any cheat on the Definitive Edition disables achievements on the current save file.
Do cheats affect your criminal rating in GTA 3?
No. Unlike later games in the series, entering cheats in GTA III leaves the criminal rating untouched.
How many cheat codes are there in GTA 3?
Twenty-five. Twenty-three of them work on every version of the game and have a controller sequence. Two are typed only: Big Head Mode, which is exclusive to the Definitive Edition, and the cheat that makes pedestrians drop their weapons.
Are the Xbox cheats the same on the original Xbox and on Xbox One?
No. The Definitive Edition swapped the triggers and the bumpers: health is RT RT LB RB on Xbox One and Series X|S, but RB RB LT RT on the 2003 original Xbox. The table gives both.
