GTA Online Money Guide (2026): How to Make Money Fast, With a Tier List
Since the July 2026 update, the fastest money in GTA Online comes from the first run of the week on the finales Rockstar boosted: the Kortz Center Heist's first painting sold each week pays about $2 million and the Dr. Dre finale about $1.1 million, both solo. Between those weekly runs, the Auto Shop's Union Depository Contract pays $300,000 every time, and an Acid Lab earns about $60,000 to $80,000 an hour in the background.

Heist payouts are for one run on normal difficulty, before the crew's cuts. Rockstar publishes none of these amounts: they are the figures the guides measured after the update, and each is detailed on the linked page.
What Changed in July 2026?
Title update 1.73 made the week the unit of GTA Online money. Thirteen finales now pay more on the host's first completion of the week and less on repeats, among them the five 2015 heists, the Diamond Casino and the Dr. Dre contract. Cayo Perico, the old solo favourite, was cut with nothing in return. The Auto Shop contracts were left out of the changes, which makes them the best earner that pays the same on every run. The heists page has every figure before and after. In May 2026, Rockstar had already doubled the base pay of Special Vehicle Work, Mobile Operations, Casino Work and story missions, and raised Bail Office, A Superyacht Life and Project Overthrow payouts by 50 per cent.
Where to Start With No Money
A new character has three steps. Contact missions pay $2,550 to $20,400 each and build the first budget. The Acid Lab is the first real purchase: the six First Dose missions unlock it, it costs $750,000 to set up, and it sells from your phone anywhere on the map. From there, an Auto Shop for the contracts or an Agency for the Dr. Dre finale, and the Kosatka for Cayo Perico once you have $2.2 million to spare. The business tier list ranks every purchase.
Passive Income: What Really Pays
The Acid Lab leads at about $60,000 to $80,000 an hour. The Nightclub's own popularity income is only about $50,000 per in-game day; its value is the warehouse, which accumulates goods from your Bunker and MC businesses up to about $1.5 million. A Bunker alone makes $45,000 to $60,000 an hour. Figures of a million an hour for a bunker or a nightclub, still common online, confuse the value of a full stock with an hourly rate. What Is Money Fronts, and Is It Worth It?
Money Fronts, released on 17 June 2025, adds three front businesses that launder dirty money through Mr. Faber's network: the Hands On Car Wash in Strawberry for $1,000,000, the Smoke on the Water dispensary for $850,000 and Higgins Helitours for $900,000. To start, meet Madrazo at the airport, then buy the Car Wash from Maze Bank Foreclosures; it is required before the other two. Laundering jobs raise your Heat, and legal work at the fronts brings it down. The Car Wash safe fills with passive income that grows with every business you own, up to about $30,000 per in-game day with all of them. It is worth it if you already own several businesses; as a first purchase, the Acid Lab, a Bunker or a Nightclub pay back faster. Rockstar gave the Car Wash away for free from 8 to 14 January 2026, so watch the weekly bonuses before paying for it.
How to Get and Upgrade the Acid Lab
Take Ron Jakowski's call and meet him above Liquor Ace in Sandy Shores, then play the six First Dose missions for Dax and the Fooliganz: the last one gets you the Brickade 6x6 that becomes the lab. Mutt, at the Freakshop, sets it up for $750,000, free for GTA+ members. After ten Fooligan Jobs for Dax, the equipment upgrade costs $250,000 and raises the value of every batch. A full load of supplies costs $60,000.
How to Start Dispatch Work
Dispatch Work is a set of off-the-books jobs for LSPD officer Vincent Effenburger, added on 25 June 2024. You need to have finished Slush Fund, the first mission of The Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid, as the leader, own a police vehicle bought from Warstock Cache & Carry, from $3,950,000, and not be registered as a CEO, VIP or MC President. Then, in the vehicle, press R3 or RS on a controller, B on PC. The payouts are small for the price of the car: it is a side activity, not a money maker.
Can You Sell Property in GTA Online?
Not directly. The only way is a trade-in: buy another property on the Dynasty 8 website and pick the one it replaces, and you get back a fraction of the old one's price. Trading an apartment for the cheapest garage is the usual way to turn it into cash. Businesses such as a Bunker or a Nightclub cannot be sold, only moved to another location of the same type through Maze Bank Foreclosures. And since spring 2026, according to PC Gamer, selling a car pays $500,000 at most.
Is GTA Online Giving Away Money in 2026?
Yes, regularly, through Rockstar's weekly updates. GTA+ members get GTA$500,000 every month on their renewal date. In 2026, everyone who logged in got GTA$1,000,000 between 12 March and 1 April, and again between 6 and 12 August; the Fine Art Collector event paid $500,000 for playing and $1,000,000 for any heist in June and July; and the Business Rivalries event gives a free business every week of September and GTA$1,000,000 for one weekly challenge. Any other "free money" offer, from a website or a stranger in a session, is a scam or a ban risk.
How Much Does GTA Online Money Cost?
