Where to Buy the GTA Trilogy

GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas rebuilt in one package. The Definitive Edition lists at 59.99 € on every official store, is 19.79 € on Steam until 1 October 2026, and sells for 16 to 20 € as a key. We compare three key sellers on PC, Xbox, Switch and PlayStation, and what became of the three original PC games.

★ Our verdict

On console, a key saves about 40 euros. On PC, Steam's sale is the deal until 1 October. The Definitive Edition lists at 59.99 € on the Xbox and PlayStation stores. As a key it costs 15.99 € on Xbox and 17.43 € on Switch at Eneba, 18.19 € and 19.99 € at Instant Gaming, our affiliate. On PC, Steam sells the Trilogy at 19.79 € until 1 October 2026 (normally 59.99 €). Instant Gaming's PC key, the only one any seller lists, was out of stock on 28 September 2026, like the 2001 to 2005 originals, so after 1 October the PC price goes back to 59.99 €. On PlayStation no key seller has stock either, only the store price or an account.

01Step one

Trilogy or the Originals?

The Definitive Edition is the only way to play GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S and Switch, and the three games are also sold one by one on the PlayStation and Xbox stores. It was patched heavily since its rough 2021 launch and updated again in 2024 with the classic lighting option. On PC the original games were the other path, with thousands of mods behind them, but their last keys at Instant Gaming were out of stock on 28 September 2026.

Key prices, stock and store prices checked on 28 September 2026, Europe region. On PC the Rockstar Store sells the Trilogy at 59.99 €; on Steam each of the three games is sold only as part of this Trilogy. The three games are also sold one by one on the PlayStation and Xbox stores.

A key

A code you redeem on your own Rockstar, Microsoft or Nintendo account. The games sit in your library for good. Check the region: a Europe key needs a European account.

An account

The login details of a third-party account that owns the game. You play through it rather than owning it, the seller keeps the recovery email, and platform terms prohibit buying or transferring accounts. Cheap for a reason.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition cost in 2026?
59.99 EUR list on the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store, the Nintendo eShop, the Rockstar Store and Steam, where it is on sale at 19.79 EUR until 1 October 2026. Key sellers go lower on console: 15.99 EUR on Xbox and 17.43 EUR on Switch at Eneba, 18.19 EUR on Xbox and 19.99 EUR on Switch at Instant Gaming, checked on 28 September 2026. The PC key was out of stock.
Which games are in the Trilogy?
Grand Theft Auto III (2001), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002) and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004), remastered in Unreal Engine by Grove Street Games with higher resolution, longer draw distances, GTA V style controls and mission checkpoints. A 2024 update added a classic lighting option closer to the original look.
Is the Definitive Edition fixed now?
Mostly. The November 2021 launch was rough, with rain effects, character models and missing songs widely criticised, and Rockstar apologised and patched the games through 2022. The November 2024 update brought the mobile version's improvements, including classic lighting, to consoles and PC. It is a far better product than at launch, but purists still prefer the originals.
Trilogy or the original games on PC?
On paper the originals: they support mods and many PC players prefer them. In practice they are out of print: Rockstar pulled them from stores in 2021, and their last keys at Instant Gaming were out of stock on 28 September 2026. The Definitive Edition gives you modern controls, checkpoints and a consistent look. On console the Trilogy is the only option.
Can you buy GTA III, Vice City or San Andreas separately?
On console, yes: the Definitive Edition versions are sold one by one on the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store. On Steam, no: each game's page sells the whole Trilogy, at 19.79 EUR until 1 October 2026 (normally 59.99 EUR), so one game costs the same as all three. The original PC versions are still listed as keys at Instant Gaming but were out of stock on 28 September 2026. No key seller lists the individual Definitive Edition games, only the Trilogy.
Is buying a GTA Trilogy key safe?
A key is redeemed on the Rockstar Games Launcher, the Microsoft Store or the Nintendo eShop and the games land in your own library. Check the region: the keys compared here are Europe keys. Kinguin's PlayStation listings are accounts, not keys, which is why they are flagged.
What players say on the stores

Ratings published by each store and read on 28 September 2026; the stars put each score on a five-star scale. They are those stores’ figures, not GTAside reviews, and they rate the game itself, not the key.
