The Stolen Sword
Huang brings the Yu Jian sword to his uncle Kenny after his father's murder, but is ambushed on arrival and left for dead. Kenny had planned to give the sword to Triad leader Hsin Jaoming to secure his succession. Huang goes to work for Kenny, and for the other two candidates, Hsin's son Chan and underboss Zhou Ming.
Heston and the Informant
Corrupt detective Wade Heston, under pressure from internal affairs, teams up with Huang. Their investigation leads to the Wonsu Nodong, a Korean splinter gang whose leader is tied to the theft and to a police informant. Hsin sends Huang after the informant; Italian mobster Rudy D'Avanzo misleads him, and Huang kills Rudy. Hsin even suspects Huang, who is saved by Kenny.
How Does Chinatown Wars End?
Huang hacks the FIB servers, whose files name Chan and Zhou as informants. Hsin steps down in Rat Race and names Kenny his successor, and Huang kills Chan and Zhou. But the files were fake: Kenny leads the Wonsu Nodong, stole the sword and killed Huang's father, his own brother. In Salt in the Wound, Kenny stabs Hsin with Yu Jian, and Huang kills Kenny. Heston arrests Hsin and lets Huang go, and Hsin offers Huang the leadership of the Triads, to which Huang gives no answer.
