GTA Advance has 41 story missions across Liberty City's three islands. Mike loses his partner Vinnie in an apparent car bomb, works for 8-Ball, Jonnie, King Courtney, Cisco and the Yakuza while hunting the killer, and discovers that Vinnie faked his death. The last mission, Freedom Flies, ends with Mike escaping Liberty City in Cisco's plane.

Mike and Vinnie plan to leave Liberty City, and Vinnie has Mike do jobs for the Mafia. In Getaway, Vinnie's car explodes, apparently killing him and destroying their money. Mike works for 8-Ball, then for bartender Jonnie, who is killed.
King Courtney points Mike at Cisco, leader of the Colombian Cartel, but Cisco is innocent: Courtney was using Mike. Mike then works for both Cisco and Asuka Kasen of the Yakuza.
Cisco is found dead, and Mike chases the killer: Vinnie, who faked his death to keep the money and also killed Jonnie. Mike kills him. After a Cartel ambush, 8-Ball is arrested, and King Courtney puts a hit on Mike. With the Yakuza's help, Mike storms Courtney's hideout; Courtney survives when the police arrive, and Mike escapes Liberty City in Cisco's plane.
