Fastest Bikes in GTA 5 Online, 2026 Ranking

The fastest motorcycle in GTA Online is the Western Reever, at 163 mph (262.32 km/h). It is not the bike that wins races, though: around a lap the Western Powersurge is quicker than anything else on two wheels, and the only bike with Hao's Special Works upgrades, the Shitzu Hakuchou Drag, laps faster than both once converted. Here is which bike to buy for what, with every figure measured in game, fully upgraded.

Top Speed or Lap Time?

A bike's top speed is what it reaches at the end of a long straight. A lap time measures everything else: how hard it accelerates out of a corner, how much grip it has when leaned over, how late it can brake. In races, the second number decides who wins, and on bikes the two rankings barely overlap.

The Western Reever, added with The Contract in 2022, is the clearest case: 163 mph (262.32 km/h) flat out, more than any other motorcycle, but only eighth around a lap at 0:59.459. The electric Western Powersurge, from LS Drug Wars, sits ninth on top speed at 130 mph and still laps faster than every other bike, in 0:55.371.

The Best Bikes for Racing

Behind the Powersurge, the Shitzu Hakuchou Drag (0:57.440) and the Nagasaki Shotaro, the neon bike from the Bikers update (0:57.490), are the quickest around a lap. The Nagasaki Shinobi from The Contract follows at 0:58.592. All of them are sold at Legendary Motorsport, and all of them cost between GTA$976,000 and GTA$2.5 million.

The surprise is the Pegassi Bati 801. At GTA$15,000 it costs almost nothing, yet it reaches 135 mph and laps in 0:58.625, about three seconds off the Powersurge, a bike a hundred times its price. Its twin, the Bati 801RR, has the same figures. For a new player, it is the best value on two wheels in the game.

The Only HSW Motorcycle

Hao's Special Works upgrades exist only on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the Enhanced edition on PC, and only one motorcycle takes them: the Shitzu Hakuchou Drag. Converted, it reaches 157.5 mph (253.47 km/h) and laps in 0:52.736, the fastest lap of any bike. The conversion costs GTA$1,450,000 at the LS Car Meet, on top of the GTA$976,000 price of the bike.

Off-Road and Special Bikes

Two bikes in the top speed list are built for other jobs. The Maibatsu Manchez Scout, from The Cayo Perico Heist, is a dirt bike that still reaches 139.75 mph, which makes it the best choice when a race leaves the road. The Western Police Bike, added with Money Fronts in 2025, reaches 156.75 mph but costs GTA$4,960,000 at Warstock Cache & Carry, the most expensive motorcycle in the list by far.

Weaponized bikes such as the Oppressor are left out: their rockets and boosts make the comparison meaningless. The fastest cars and the fastest planes and helicopters are ranked on the same terms, and the heists page shows where the money for them comes from.
