Three Time Trials Every Week
The standard Time Trial has been in GTA Online since September 2015. Find the purple stopwatch on the map, drive into the circle, and reach the finish before the par time by any route you like: there are no checkpoints. Almost any car or motorbike will do, but armed and special vehicles have been banned since 2019. Beating the par time pays GTA$100,000 the first time each week; later runs only pay a few thousand.
The HSW Time Trial is for vehicles upgraded at Hao's Special Works, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and, since March 2025, the Enhanced edition on PC. The par time depends on the vehicle you choose, and the first success of the week pays GTA$250,000.
The RC Bandito Time Trial, added in 2019, is a checkpoint race driven with a remote-control car. Its route is not announced every week, so this page does not list it.
How to Beat the Par Time
Because the standard Time Trial has no checkpoints, the route is yours: look at the map before you start and take every shortcut it allows. A nimble supercar or a fast motorbike are the usual choices. If a run goes wrong early, hold the restart button rather than finishing it: you are back at the start in seconds.
Together, the standard and HSW Time Trials pay up to GTA$350,000 a week for a few minutes of driving, and Rockstar often doubles or triples that with weekly bonuses.
