Franklin Clinton: Everything About GTA 5's Youngest Protagonist

Franklin Clinton is one of the three protagonists of GTA V (2013): a young street hustler repossessing cars for a crooked dealership who becomes Michael De Santa's protégé. He is the one who chooses the game's ending, and he returns as the lead of GTA Online's The Contract (2021). Shawn Fonteno plays him.

Franklin's Story in GTA V

Franklin works as a repo man for Simeon Yetarian. Sent to take back Jimmy De Santa's car, he meets Michael, who becomes his mentor and partner in crime. He moves up from street jobs to heists, saves his best friend Lamar from the traps set by Stretch, and moves from South Los Santos into a house on Whispymound Drive.

The Ending Franklin Chooses

After the Union Depository heist, FIB agents Steve Haines and Dave Norton ask Franklin to kill Trevor, while Devin Weston wants Michael dead. The third option is to save both. Franklin survives all three endings. GTA V has three endings, chosen by Franklin after the Union Depository heist: Something Sensible (kill Trevor), The Time's Come (kill Michael) and The Third Way (save both). Franklin in GTA Online

Franklin is the main character of GTA Online's The Contract (15 December 2021), where he runs the celebrity agency F. Clinton and Partner with the player, and his client is Dr. Dre. Franklin and Lamar are also playable in the Short Trips missions. Shawn Fonteno returned to the role.

Franklin and CJ

Shawn Fonteno is the cousin of Young Maylay, who voiced Carl "CJ" Johnson in GTA San Andreas.
