Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need a console to enter GTA 3 cheats on PC?
No. GTA III has no cheat console. You type the word during play, outside the pause screen, and the game confirms it straight away.
Why does the armour cheat not work in GTA 3?
Because the spelling changed between releases. Version 1.0 of the game uses TURTOISE, with the extra U. Every later version, including the Definitive Edition, uses TORTOISE. If one does nothing, try the other.
Can you still buy the original GTA 3 on PC?
Yes, but not on its own. The original PC versions left digital stores in October 2021 and came back on the Rockstar Store as a bundle with Vice City and San Andreas.
Do cheats disable Steam achievements in GTA 3?
On the Definitive Edition, yes, on the save file where you used them. Keep a separate save for cheating.
