Bill Williamson, born Marion Williamson, is John Marston's first target in Red Dead Redemption (2010). A former member of the Van der Linde gang, he leads his own gang from Fort Mercer, then flees to Mexico, where he dies. Steve J. Palmer voices him in Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Bill was dishonorably discharged from the army in 1892 for attempted murder and deviancy. Dutch van der Linde saved him after Bill tried to rob him, and Bill stayed loyal to Dutch, siding with him against Arthur and John. He changed his name from Marion out of embarrassment. More on Dutch.

Javier Escuella is a former Van der Linde gang member whom John Marston hunts down in Nuevo Paraiso in Red Dead Redemption (2010). In The Gates of El Presidio, the player chooses to kill him or bring him back alive. Antonio Jaramillo voices him in Red Dead Redemption, and Gabriel Sloyer in RDR2.
Born in Nuevo Paraiso, Javier fled Mexico after killing a high-ranking army officer over a woman. A bounty hunter and revolutionary, he joined the gang about four years before 1899 and was deeply loyal to Dutch.
Javier works under the protection of Colonel Allende and the Mexican Army, and he helped Bill Williamson flee to Mexico. His only mission is The Gates of El Presidio: when Abraham Reyes' rebels storm El Presidio, Javier tries to talk his way out, pushes a crate onto John, escapes through a window and is chased down. More on Bill Williamson.
Both are allowed: John can kill Javier, or lasso and hogtie him and bring him back alive. Either way, he is handed to Edgar Ross and Archer Fordham.
In 1899, Javier helps Arthur rescue John from wolves, and takes part in the Cornwall train robbery, Sean's rescue and the Saint Denis bank robbery. On Guarma he is shot in the leg and captured, then rescued by Dutch and Arthur. He sides with Dutch at the end. More on the RDR2 characters page.

He is known only as Uncle, claims to suffer from "terminal lumbago", and dies when the Army attacks the ranch in 1911. Spider Madison voices him in Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare.

No family link is known. His character biography says nobody is sure "if he's actually anybody's uncle", and the name is generally read as a nickname. Uncle is the one who introduced Abigail to the gang, around 1894. More on Abigail.
